The medal is made of bronze, fully painted Matt black, with gold-plated edging of some elements. On the obverse of the medal edged with Laurel leaves, shows Spanish the lion defeating the dragon, which symbolizes communism (of the dragon there is the hammer and sickle). On the background of the sun depicts the four sword placed vertically and horizontally. Written date "17 JVLIO 1936" (17 July 1936), marked the beginning of the armed uprising against Spanish phalanx of Republicans.On the reverse of the bezel are the words "ARRIBA ESPAÑA" (Spanish:"Forward Spain"). Circular inscription — "GENESSMO. FRANCO VICTOR. — UNA, GRANDE, LIBRE, IMPERIAL, M, HISP. GLOR". (Spanish : "Forward Spain"). In the center is depicted the eagle holding in its talons the coat of arms of the times of Francisco Franco. Under the wing shows the beam of the crossed arrows is a sign of the Spanish phalanx.
