The Grand Cross of the Order of the German Eagle on the shoulder band is made in the form of a white enamel Maltese cross, between the rays of which are imperial eagles holding oak wreaths with the national symbol in their talons. The heads of the eagles are turned clockwise. To the upper beam of the cross is attached an eye, through which is threaded a broad red shoulder ribbon with triple white-black-and-white stripes on the edges and a white stripe in the middle. The ring is marked with a silver sample "900". The award is complemented by a chest composite eight-pointed star in the form of radiance. The overlay in the form of an order with eagles is attached with two rivets. On the reverse of the star there is a vertical pin for wearing on the uniform, on which a silver sample is placed - "900". The order and the star are enclosed in a rectangular case of red color, with an embossed golden eagle on the lid. Inside, the lid is trimmed with white silk, and the base with a recess for a cross and a star is covered with a black velvet backing. The case is locked with a double lock-a fastener located on the end of the front side. All the surfaces were covered with a noble patina from time to time. The case on the outside has traces of existence.
